Living for Christ.

There are complex descriptions for life as we know it and it’s origins. In school, we are taught to use Darwin’s theory of evolution to study life and understand it’s variation and beauty. On the contrary, the Bible gives us the truth about life; not as a probable cosmic product from universal energy, but as a gift and work of the Most high—Jehovah!

How is Christ connected to Life?

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”—‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus is the light, we can’t see where we are headed or which path we are taking without him. He spoke and still speaks the truth through the holy spirit that he left to guide us! Without assurance of the things mentioned, we are lost and doomed to be slaves to sin!

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”—‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬.

People from different religious beliefs and cultures may have various views of life-after death. As some (Atheists) can’t tolerate anything concerning afterlife, many from other religions  including Islam have a promise of afterlife in their holy books. The only difference from other beliefs is that the promise of eternal life in Christianity revolves around  Jesus, Who rose from the dead and ascended back to heaven.

We have hope in his promise to come back for his church (those who live in him and walk in obedience).

When you let Jesus in:

The prince of peace (Jesus) is the bread of life—“I am the bread of life.”—‭‭John‬ ‭6:48‬. He is food to hungry souls and quenches spiritual thirst for good. When you let him in, you not only receive eternal life, but also gifts from the Holy spirit . We can have these things only if we live in Christ.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

—John‬15:78‬.

Is God not responding?

“For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”—‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You may wonder why the promise in this scripture may not be unraveling, even when you try to seek Christ. I have been there; when I fast and pray but nothing is heard from God. Nothing else can be more depressing than thinking that God is quiet….you start thinking if you are not doing enough to impress him, or was too far lost to bounce back on his radar. But he always listens!!

Maybe we spend a lot of time knocking on the wrong doors, not hearing and paying attention to little clues that he provides us with. Living for him means paying attention to these clues, loving him for what he is, not for our needs!

Reflection:

Life in this world is a blend of happiness and sadness, suffering and prosperity....Jesus lived in the same world and lived the same life—as a human, yet he didn’t sin!! He is our Lord and high priest. We can’t live as perfect as he did but we should live in repentance, obedience and meditation on his word (through scripture).
